One of the benefits of my husband working in the school's equipment office is that the equipment reps like to take us out to eat when they are in town. For the most part they have stuck with fine dinning and anywhere you can get red meat. This last time we suggested a Sushi place, because Josh and I had never tried it and we were curious. We went to a place called Taiko, it was a Japanese Grill and Sushi Bar where they cook the food in front of you. They picked out a sample platter that had a bunch of different types of sushi for us to try and then we ordered our main dishes. I love trying new things, but I was still a little nervous about the whole texture thing. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised...I LOVED it!! I have never been a huge fish fan either, so that is really saying something. So if you are in the market for trying something new, I highly recommend it! (Of course make sure you get it from somewhere that knows what they are doing)

you are brave, the only time I have tried it my sister-in-law made it and it was chicken california rolls, not anything fishy. I am acquiring more of a taste for seafood stuff, it is just a slow process. We will have to try with you guys sometime cuz' I know Nate would love it.
You are much braver than I. I am funny about textures too. Sushi just seems slimy and gross. But I guess until I try it myself, I can't say I don't like it. It may take me awaile to get up the courage to try it! Good for you though, Brooke!!
Mmmmmm sushi. I have grown to love sushi here as well. Eating new food is so fun. What am I saying? Eating ANY food is fun!
Whoa, I am sooo impressed. I have never tried sushi because the thought of eating something raw, kinda makes me want to puke. But maybe I should be more open minded. I mean, I do like fish when it's cooked, maybe sushi would be worth trying.
