A Day of Love! (a little late)

Josh had most of the day off from school on Friday, so we decided to do part of our Valentine's Day celebration then. In the morning we took Houston to the Zoo and had a great time. There weren't a lot of people there, so Houston had free reign of the carousel and the Children's Zoo. He was a bit hesitant on the carousel ride and each time they would come around he got closer and closer holding onto Josh...it was pretty funny to watch.

After we went and looked at the animals, we spent the rest of the time playing in the Children's Zoo on the playground and the other Children's exhibits- Houston had a blast!

That night, Josh and I dropped Houston off and went out for our "Kid Free" section of the evening. Josh took me to the Cheesecake Factory for a WONDERFUL meal.....I love avocado egg rolls!!! The relaxing time out was the perfect way to wrap up our Valentine's Day Celebration!

Time for Bed?

Judging from the pictures you would probably guess that it was time for bed, right? No, it is 3:30 in the afternoon and my child is in his pajamas. Houston got the cutest little gift for his Birthday, Lightning McQueen pajamas and a sleep set that had a mini sleeping bag, pillow and night light. Needless to say, he LOVED the gift and immediately upon opening it up, wanted everything out. Mind you, it was in the mid 70's that day!But that didn't stop him, he wanted his shorts and T-shirt off and his Lightning pajamas on. He would have stayed in them all day if I would have let him and cried when I made him take them off for bath time. So, if you ever see us at the store and Houston is in his Lightning pajamas, it has either been a long day or Houston picked out his own clothes!

Houston is Two!

Houston is officially a two year old! The age really should be something that I am used to hearing by now, considering that most of last year was spent explaining that my child was NOT two yet! (He got the Cook genes for height) It still seems strange to say that I have a two year old and will definitely take some getting used to. We had a fun little celebration for Houston and his friend Alex at playgroup on Wednesday. The kids had a good time climbing on the playground and eating cupcakes and the mom's had fun being able to visit with everyone!

Upside down cake anyone? Now I thought it was supposed to be the first birthday that was the messy one!

ROUND TWO for Birthday Parties!

Saturday we had a few friends over to our house to celebrate and have a pajama party. We had the kids decorate their own cupcakes...which was pretty entertaining to watch. I couldn't tell if more of the decorations ended up on their cupcakes or in their mouths. It was a good relaxing way to have a Birthday party, I highly recommend it!
