Bear Paw Festival

Bouncing on the jousting area before it opened up for the big kids

Enjoying a free lunch is always good, but even better while surrounded by friends!

Kiddos with their faces painted. You can't see it, but even Jaxson got in on the fun!

Play dough table

Jaxson showing us his skills with a hula hoop

Such a cute bunch waiting for the parade to begin

CANDY!!

Even Jaxson got a pretty good haul, they would come and dump candy into his stroller. Now that is what I call service!

Houston worked during the week to earn games and rides at the carnival, he was so excited to get a prize!

Independence Mine

Independence Mine is an old gold mine up Hatcher's pass in Wasilla. We had never been there and decided to go and check it out with my parents. It was a beautiful drive and really neat to learn the history behind it, especially since my grandpa was a miner.

Houston checking out the view

These were the same kind of drills that my grandpa had to pack in and out of the mine. No wonder he was a good arm wrestler!

Heigh Ho Heigh Ho, it's off to work we go!

I couldn't pass up the cool background...Josh is such a good sport

The boys in the mining cars....Jaxson kept calling it the dinosaur train!

Checking out the waterfall with Papa

Grandma & Papa come to Visit!

Seeing the sites, running around parks, movies, McDonald's and playing as much as possible. I hope we didn't wear you out too much!

Thanks for visiting.....Come again soon!

Adventure to Whittier

While my parents were here we decided to go through the tunnel to Whittier. It is a tiny little town that they do glacier tours and fishing charters out of. It was a bit rainy, but fun to explore.

Checking out the boats

We stopped on the way back to look at a few glaciers

And to throw rocks in the water

My dad ringing out Houston's socks after he went out too deep!
