Halloween

We had a great time this year visiting with friends, going to the ward party, and Trick-or-treating! Houston has decided that he is going to be a cowboy next year as well as the years to follow.

Reach for the sky!!!

There's a new Sheriff in town

The kids took over handing out candy at the trunk or treat. I think Houston ended up getting candy from a fellow trick-or-treater, instead of the other way around.

Pumpkin Carving & Bowling

We decided that we were going to carve a pumpkin for family night this year and Houston was so excited. That morning Houston and I made a special trip to the store to find a pumpkin carving kit and then He and Josh went and picked out the perfect pumpkin.

Houston and I cleaned out the pumpkin guts and then Josh carved it with some assistance. It's a good thing that Josh has mad carving skills, because he picked out the most intricate pattern in the book.

Here is the finished project- "The Haunted Mummy"

With Josh's Wednesday through Saturday schedule right now, we have been able to have a lot of great family adventures. Our latest adventure was to take Houston to the local bowling alley. If we would have known how much fun he was going have, we would have taken him sooner.

He was so excited about his turn to go and trying to get strikes, that he would pick up his bowling ball anytime someone was in between turns. Towards the end of the game Josh and I were having so much fun watching him, that we let him play for us too.

Next time I think we may just pay for him to bowl by himself, it was so much fun!

Alaska

A few weeks ago Josh had a job interview up in Alaska and they let us tag along for the ride...which was AMAZING! The scenery was beautiful, the people were friendly and we had a great time exploring Alaska.

The boys and I at the start of our flying adventure. Houston was so excited to be on an airplane again, it was all he could talk about for days (before and after) Jaxson seemed to enjoy flying too, or maybe it was just that he got to be held so much.

Houston James Cook with Captain James Cook

Our hotel was called "The Hotel Captain Cook", so the boys were good sports and let me take a lot of pictures in front of everything that said Cook on it! (I really wanted to take the Captain Cook towels home)

Maybe it was because we were starving, but we had the best buffet ever while we were there. Houston did a great job keeping Jaxson entertained while Josh and I were trying to eat our body weight in food!

Jaxson did a pretty good job packing down the food too!

Houston with Annie the Office Manager. She was so sweet and took him around to meet everyone in the office.

The view from Doctor Wolf's back yard....I wish I had a better camera, so I could do it justice.

Jaxson loved the attention and the Doctor's kids and wife had him laughing and squealing, it was so cute.

They had great parks and lakes everywhere, Josh was in Heaven

Although Josh didn't end up accepting the position there, the trip was great and we made some good memories!

Three Months

I can't believe that it has already been three months, I know it is cheesy to say, but they do grow up too fast! We have been having so much fun with this little guy....well I guess he is not so little, but you know what I mean.

Winds of Change

I won't bore you with all of the details, but here's a quick run down of what we have been up to the past month.

After 4 years we said goodbye to the city of Houston....but not goodbye to Texas. We packed up and moved to Beaumont, TX for Josh to do some relief work for a few months. We miss seeing all of our friends more often, but are grateful for the opportunity and that we are still close enough to come and visit.

Girls Night Out Farewell

Houston was a good sport and made the most of it by creating forts and little houses to play in with all of the boxes.

Our cute little movers were actually a huge help and not only kept Houston entertained, but moved boxes and anything else they could lift. A BIG thank you to both our new and old ward for all of the help in moving.

I had to put these pictures in of Jaxson, because he is so dang cute and chubby! He loves his bath time and kicks up a storm in the tub. I put him in his swimming suit so we could post a video of it, but then he seemed so worried about what was on him, that he didn't kick as much. Oh well, it was worth a shot!

Houston loves to play at our clubhouse and calls it his little house. We are teaching him to play pool, so that he can hussel the people in our complex.

We made trip up to our old neighborhood to clean our condo and visit friends. Houston was so excited to see his friends again and couldn't stop talking about how much fun they had.

We are lucky to have some awesome friends here in Beaumont from Optometry school.

Houston was happy to have new friends to play with and Jacie was so excited to play mommy with Jaxson.

For those of you who know our situation we were thinking about entering the Navy. After some careful deliberation (and government cut-backs) we decided to turn down their offer. We have some fun and exciting decisions to make in the next few months...more winds of change to come.

Father and Son outing #(not sure)

Houston and I got to go to the Astros game last night. We had a blast! We parked at a friends apartment complex (who were gone on vacation) and had good timing to escape out of the gate without being noticed by the security guard. We were basically convicts. We took metro rail to the game. This was really just part of the adventure for Houston. He loves riding on metro.

I had to be really quick to get this shot. Houston was already on his way back. He loves crowd dodging for some reason. If he could choose he would go the opposite way of everyone else.

This was just to good to pass up. I think I mess it up a little by being in the background, but what can you do.

Treats always taste better at a game...or anytime if you're Houston.

This was just too funny not to put in.

Our seats were suppose to be in the upper deck, but as you can see we are very much close to the field. Who is going to ask a little 3 year old to see their ticket when he is at a game with his Dad (rule breakin' yet again...a thug in the making). We were also able to see the only runs scored for the Astros the whole game. It was a 2-run home run by the left fielder (I don't know his name). It hit the deck right above us and bounced down to the people right in front of us. If we weren't in the shadows to much we may have even made it on TV.

It was a good time. Houston got to stay up way past his bedtime, ride on a train, walk past water fountains, go to a major league baseball game, ride on a train again, drive in the dark and look at the stars, and spend a night with his Dad. What more could a little 3 year old ask for? Could it get any better? I submit that it cannot!

Picture Update

I thought I would post a few pictures of our new addition and our adventures as a family of four. Houston is still excited to be a big brother and loves to help out with the baby; getting diapers, putting pacifiers in and bringing Jaxson toys.

I had to put this one in of Houston. He was so proud of the beard he made when Daddy and Grandma took him to the Children's Museum.

Story time with Grandma White

Jaxson's first Sunday at Church. Houston was so excited that his baby brother got to come with us.
